The Gravitation Engine

Revealing this revolutionary motor, Edgar Cayce gave psychic readings to the inventors Marion L. Stansell, Tim Brown, an auto parts manufacturer from Detroit, and Morton Blumenthal, a New York Stock Broker and early supporter of the Cayce Hospital.

The basic theory of how the [4666] Motor works is represented in the following Readings:

"Theory of Motor Working: The phrase 'getting something from nothing' is incorrect—for we know there is no such a thing as nothing. We do know that everything is a force or some form of energy. We do not know the relation of these forces of energy to each other—or, in other words, the Relativity of Force—but we can assume that this relationship exists. Therefore, in the case of our motor, when we look at the two substances, water and air, we look at them as forces, and by using a mechanical contrivance to accentuate and retard these forces at the right time it is possible to utilize the resultant force or Component force. This is what has been done in [4666] Motor."

Reading 195-51

The engine generates energy through a process involving the integration and disintegration of elements by accentuation of the active force of gravitation (which likely reffers to fusion by sonochemistry).

Cavitation is an enormously powerful process. Conditions in the collapsing cavity can reach up to 5'000⁰C for few nanoseconds. The implosion takes place during the cavitation process in milliseconds, releasing tremendous energy in the form of shockwaves. The concept of creating fusion by cavitation has been well studied and proven scientifically.

It utilized the relationship between liquids and substances with different specific gravities to generate power within itself. The motor was designed to be self-sustaining once started, though not perpetual. As described, it could "be kept in motion by created energy of its own source".

"Means of generating power within itself by relationship between water or other liquids, and vacuum or contained air or contained gas - or relationship between liquids and other properties with less specific gravity than the liquid."

Components

Key Components and Specifications (from Reading 4665-7):

  • Leads:                     12" wide
  • Eccentric throw:  5"
  • Sprangle draw:    22"

Assembly

  • The motor features a liquid filled circular tank containing a excentrically suspended air drum

  • The air drum is supported by ball bearings at each end and encircled with gears fitted to pinions

  • The cam mechanism includes specific curves and radial measurements for proper operation

  • The leads and sprangle attachments are designed to work in conjunction with the cam system

Power Generation

The driving forces involved:

  • Compression in the drum
  • Vibrations gathered from air forced through the drum
  • Transmission of gravitation raised to a degree that becomes motive power

According to Reading 4665-0013, the motor generates power through the radial force and vibration of its components. Cayce states that "the radial force of the axis of the earth" is an example of how "the force from which this planet is kept in motion is radiated through, or from, that directive force." Similarly, the 4666 motor generates power through the radial forces and vibrations of its cams, leads, and other components working together in the proper proportions.

"...the proper proportions for the drum:  Eleven inches (11") in diameter, and thirty-four inches (34") in length, with the seven inch (7") eccentric; making the leads in the form of sprangles, and not so much looseness - but sufficient for proper action in cams in end of drum."

Reading 4665-3

"...relativity of force as seen in gravitation has the capacity of displacing all the elements in their various octave of density to combine in their active principle of weight; yet each of these elements are in relation to the radius about which the object is ejected or being drawn to the radial center...its expansion as comes with motion...is the centralization of vibratory force ready to be changed into power by non activity..."

Reading 195-54

"...pull more of the power as produced in compression in drum.  from the sprangle on drum where each element takes on its activity in both down and upward movement."

Reading 195-52

"...balance of two proper elements [castor] oil and quicksilver. Then, only remove that binding in the second position and combine again in the first relative position, in this we will find the operative force…the combination of relativity of elements with the active force of sympathetic vibration bringing the two into relations that make a usable motive principle..."

Reading 4665-13

"...radial activity of octave force brings one lead in connection with the next...leads in the form of sprangles, with various sprangle, not to much loosnes but enought for proper action in cams in end of drum..."

Reading 4665-1

"...leads...gather vibrations from the air as is forced through drum...variation in the specific gravity of chemical and other ingredients through which leads gain their control from combustion as produced through activity of that change taking place in the matter...angle: 15°30' from center..."

Reading 4665-2

"...the angle is nessesary to bring about the first rotation is at such degree as to cause binding in its second degree of motion, or uplift. Impelling force will increase the rotary motion to where power, endurance and stability of activity is kept in motion... magnification of the syncothetic or syncopathic forces produce radial activity about common center."

Power Transmission

5. (Q) Regarding [195]'s motor, will machine need mercury or some other fluid inside of the driving wheel?

(A) Mercury well, will that balance with the other flow that is to be the relieving factor.

Reading 900-460

4. (Q) Hump at B in duct is to retain mercury until proper position is reached. Is this hump too pronounced or not pronounced enough?

(A) That's just what we have been saying, see? and, as has been marked here to show. This smaller OPENING, see? and the hump not so blunt, but more rounding - at B.

5. (Q) What liquid will balance best with mercury in ducts as the relieving factor?

(A) Oil - Castor Oil.

6. (Q) Castor oil better than kerosene?

(A) Better for the gravity in same and the resistive forces are better balanced.

7. (Q) Adding mercury and other fluid to ducts all air is eliminated, would proportion by volume 40 mercury to 60 other fluid be approximately correct for best results?

(A) Approximately correct. Just a fraction difference. These will come better by illustration, or by DEMONSTRATION - see?

Reading 195-67

EC: In the material change, as we will find, the balances are near correct - save in that the inside cog must be made in a nearer proportion TO that of the idler, and that there may be almost the SEALED forces between the chambers THROUGH WHICH [there is] the activity of the various elements, or the two elements proper. The forming of the second - in the activity of the oil (castor) and of the quicksilver (the FOUNDATION of MOST metals), or that at a VIBRATION that is active with motion and with the expansions as come WITH motion - but when these changes are made, and the minor details as to the position relatively of the various conditions in the outside, these SHOULD operate - as has been given it would.

Operation

The success of the motor depended on precise calibration of several components:

  • The bearings needed to work smoothly without lubrication that would interfere with the motive force
  • The leads and sprangles needed proper proportioning
  • The cams required careful adjustment to avoid too much slack or play

However, the motor was never completed or fully operational and the project most probably classified like many others...

In March of 1973, a letter was sent from A.R.E. to Stansell's daughter after he died. A new team of researchers was looking for copies of the original designs or the patent application from Stansell's files. The daughter responded that her father had worked on the motor until he died 10 years prior. She added, "As far as anyone knows no papers were ever found. It does seem a terrible shame."

According to the Edgar Cayce Foundation, there are still individuals working on building a motor based on the readings of Edgar Cayce.
